Organising My Pairs!!

I posted this on my JoWeedonMelbourne facebook page and thought I need to share it with you here, also!!

love my ear-rings & I have such a wide range of colours & styles of them!!

I love the idea of working out which ones to wear & they will often determine the outfit that I will wear... Do you do this too?

So of course, I needed a way to have all those lovely ear-rings on display & always accessible, right!

 I had seen this idea many years ago & finally got around to finding these kitchen strainers & re-purposing them!!

 They sit flat against the wall, I can see all the pairs at the same time, they dont get tangled & I know when an ear-ring is missing ,(dont worry, I found the pair to those gorgeous purple ones!!)

So many of these ear-rings hold special memories of who I was with or what the event was that I bought them at, etc, so Im so glad to have them to cheer me up!!

Forgive me, it has been a looooong time between posts...

I am so excited at the moment!!

I have finally got a computer in my stamp room - this means that I can sit and work on my blog, (that has been sooo neglected!!), I can look up techniques & use them immediately & I can even watch something that I want to, while I stamp!!

And it's Mine, Mine, Mine!!

So hopefully, I will be able to be more organised & active on various platforms because I pulled the cupboards from the wall & found the internet port... YIPPEE

And while it looks all messy & disorganised, I havent been this happy to have a computer set up for a very long time!

Good times are ahead!!

Kelly's Stamping Friends - Birthday Blog Hop.

Welcome to Kelly's Blog Hop - a celebration of her birthday, friendship & creativity!!

You have just come from seeing the wonderful Rachael's creations, weren't they great!! Im always in awe of people's interpretaion of the theme for a Blog Hop & this one doesnt disappoint!!

So onto my projects!! I have always loved creating something different to what I ususally see products being used for... I gain a lot of inspiration from those who make cards & even produce scrap pages to document their life, but I seem to see less of 3D or Off The Page items...

And so this brings me to my project... Ive had this 'Notice-Board/ Stationary Holder' for well over a few years and simply havent wanted to decorate it. Until the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper came along!! My youngest teen son started the job & I helped him to finish it...we make a great pair, dont we!!

 By keeping the sheets in similar tones, as they ran along the length of the project, it allowed the joins of the paper to not be so obvious. And also, when it is full of the odd peice of Lego, pens, school notes & bills, they wont be so easy to see either, hey?

 And the white paint for the edges, matches with the 'white wash' of the internal dividers also..win, win!!

So before the family realise that they can write on the "Over-head Projector' sheet that is on the 'window' part of the board, I will enjoy the clean lines & organised appearance of my, our, little weekend project... *sigh*

When I finished the Notice Board, I realised that I had another item gathering dust - it needed to be used!!

As you may know, I am friend's with many Stampin' UP! demonstrators & am often encouraged & inspired by them. This time is no different - I recently saw an "Off The Page' project using SU! products, so I hunted around & decided that I would use this frame to show off the gorgeous Statement of The Heart from Stampin' Up! 

Our Statement of The Heart is the core belief that we all hold & it encompases everything that all demos hold true. It is now in a stamp that can be shared & loved by everyone who passes by in my stamp room!!

Firstly, I painted the wood with white paint, as I often do &I sat very impatiently, waiting for it to dry...

 I then paired the now retired Urban Garden Designer Series Paper, (DSP), with Not Quite Navy ink & Whisper White cardstock. These flowers were apart of a 12 x 12 sheet of DSP & they were screaming to be cut out & slightly re-arranged.

This flower was made by fussy cutting out the image about 6 times, from a sheet of DSP, popped up on Dimensionals & burnished to give the petals shape.

And of course, there needed to be some bling, my Up-line had taught me well!! With just a couple of peals carefully placed, it balances the piece nicely, I believe :)

Spring Time Clean-Up...

When I was using the beautiful clear blocks of Stampin' Up!, earlier this weekI realised just how 'cloudy' mine had become with overuse...

While the curved edges are very nice for my fingers & thumbs, (meaning they do not leave blisters because of harsh corners), what good is a CLEAR block when you cant see through them?
(This may be slightly exaggerated, but you can see that there is a grimy look to my blocks...)

 So it was time to boil the kettle for a peppermint tea, grab a soft cloth & the Eucalyptus Solution & spend just a few minutes to give the blocks some tender lovin' care!
(Please note: do not use any type of scourer on the blocks, they will scratch the surface, resulting on damage to them...)

Even just wiping one side of this small size D block resulted in this much grim being removed!! It really wasn't a difficult task, but like everything in life - we just have to find the time!!

Have a look at how the small block is wonderful, while there are smudges of colour looking through the blocks that are stacked on each other....? Yuck!

And finally my blocks are shiny, shiny again!! I'm certainly much happier to show off my business tools, when they are clean like this!!

And in that short time, my peppermint tea is ready!!

Forgive Me Stampin' Gods, For I Have Sinned...

I have come home from a long weekend here in Victoria, Australia & realise that I have 5 more days to prepare for a school market  that I am attending on Sunday.

I do believe I need to find my table first, though - ya think?


I always get so caught up with what I'm making & rarely clean up between projects. To be fair, my table is 1 x 3 metre long & it it VERY easy to "just keep going" with exciting new items to make, pushing supplies aside...

*Sigh* .....I should probably work on that.....

So if I haven't emerged within a couple of hours, please feel free to send in supplies of chocolate, wine & coffee, no particular order necessary :)
And should I find my table, (apparently it's white???), will edit this to show you the proof!!

Wish me luck - I'm goin' in!!


UPDATE...

In just 2 hours, I have found my table AND the floor AND the bottom of some containers that I cleaned out also!!
Go me!!

As you will remember, my table was very messy, but in 15 minute periods, I was able to put things away where they actually belonged, discovered school notices that had been lost misplaced, found enough Lego peices to build a fort & dug up a Tim-Tam single packaged biscuit that will not get eaten - sadly it was too far gone for human consumption....

When I found my table, I decided to hang up a decoration I had made a few years ago, but then Tiger discovered it too...,I wonder how long it will remain there, hey?

Once I managed to remove Tiger from my table, I could finish wiping everything down & complete  the last few things, to finish the job I began, even my husband was impressed!

"Let's see how long it stays tidy this time...", Im sure I mutter that often, hey? 

Maybe I should make a promise to clean up after each project? .....
