A Production of Pigs!!

With only a week to go for the Fiesta at my children's school, I am trying to make items that will appeal to many of the 1300 children that attend there...so I discovered punch art for a fun looking Pig and have adapted her to the tools that I have. I am quite happy with the results, just quietly!

While there was a bit of preparation involved, there were things I could do while watching TV with my family. I could sponge around the pig's face or punch out the various shapes to help bring her together.

Here is the recipe I put together to show you how to make my pig.

I also love that most of these shapes, apart from her face & body, were made from the scraps of the larger shapes and/or from other scraps. That's gotta be a great use of resources!!

This is a stage by stage photo  :)

In hindsight, I changed the way her legs & shoes were organised.

Oh and I am very aware that we cannot copy licensed charactors, but  I just love the way that the punches we have in the Stampin' Up! catalogue, have such versatility!!

I think she fills the card well, without much more needing to be added.

Now Im off to make another 15 pigs...then it's time for some Mother's Day cards, stay tuned :)

Happy Stampin'!!

To Market, To Market...

My children's primary school is having a Fiesta in 2 weeks time & I am lucky enough to be holding a stall during the day.  So I have been very busy making varied items to sell & show-case all  the amazing products from Stampin' Up!.

For this project, I've used the Owl Punch, which is in the Annual Catalogue to make these fun minions!!

I especially love to use SU! products in ways that it wasn't necessarily intended & these guys certainly meet that brief!

But I think this guy is my favourite!!

I just love how the Owl Punch is so versatile!!
(Perhaps this is the time to admit that I haven't seen either of the Despicable Me movies???)

And so because I am in such a great mood that you are here, looking at my new blog, here is the 'recipe' for you to make your own minions, using the Owl Punch. Be sure to work from left to right when assembling them, it makes it easier with a cleaner finish too :)

Welcome to Jo Weedon, I'm so glad you made it here!!

As you may have read already, I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for almost 5 years now, having signed up with  Mel Sharp and have finally decided to organise my own blog.

I am very interested in all things paper craft, especially pushing the boundaries of how products are used, rather than simply on cards and scrapbooking pages.

My husband, Brett & I have  3 children, (who you will meet in time), they are from 9 to 12 years old and keep me laughing, moving and interacting with the world, as we grow older together. We also have a Eastern Long Neck turtle, Hamburger & a very inquisitive cat called Tiger. They complete our family in Melbourne, VIctoria.

Please feel free to comment on here, CASE, my work, (Copy And Share Everything) & refer your friends to this page, my facebook page, www.facebook.com/JoWeedonMelbourne or email me at jo.weedon@gmail.com, I will endeavor to respond as necessary.

In turn, I will try to produce items that inspire you to also spend time at your scrap/ stamp or even at your dining table, (been there, done that!!).

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to let me know what you would like to see here, in the future.

Happy Stampin'
